2,700 New Zealanders are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
Over 400 will be told the cancer has progressed to secondary (metastatic) stage and spread to other parts of the body.
The cancer is incurable at this advanced stage and is managed by ongoing treatments. Life expectancy can range from months to a few years and repeated cycles of chemotherapy and radiation therapy can bring many physical and emotional stresses to patients and their families.
Sweet Louise provides free practical services and support to help improve the quality of life for men and women living with secondary breast cancer.
Sweet Louise is 'someone to talk to' about the daily challenges that living with incurable illness can bring, and is always there when needed the most.

The money raised from this charity event will be used to support local members of Sweet Louise.
